The brakes are a vital safety component that should be inspected on a frequent basis. Inspections prior to metal on metal contact can save you from expensive brake disc damage, caliper damage or even an accident.
This Toyota Hilux brake fault was picked up during routine servicing and mechanic.co.zw sourced the spares & returned to complete the job. This was caught just in time before metal to metal contact occurred saving the customer money on disc skimming or replacement.
The brake discs were visually inspected, tested with a micrometer and found to be in manufactures tolerances for re-use. It was also tested for disc runout using a DTI gauge and also found to be in spec.
Genuine Toyota brake pads were used for replacement at the request of the customer.
